Work with Older People

Time to Talk Befriending

Our local communities in Brighton and Hove, Worthing and neighbouring fringes are filled with individuals from different walks of life, all with interesting and unique skills, interests and backgrounds, yet so many can feel anonymous, lonely and forgotten. With the rise of technology, housing pressures and transient neighbourhoods i.e. where students come and go, older people in particular can feel excluded and left-behind. We are motivated by our belief that older people should be honoured and respected - not forgotten within society, so we seek to provide opportunities where older people can feel a sense of belonging. As a Charity we have witnessed first-hand how much people can gain from engaging and connecting with each other through intergenerational befriending, chaplaincy, group befriending events, community outreach and seasonal campaigns. We see lives transformed every day through the simple act of friendship which for most of our volunteers is equally as life-changing and rewarding!
