Everyday Encouragement
One listener shares how Premier brought hope and strength into daily life
Discover how Premier Radio became a constant source of encouragement and faith for Gill
My name is Gill, and I just want to talk about how Premier encouraged me over the years. I started watching it when I first became a Christian, probably about 15 years ago, and I didn’t know anyone who was Christian apart from people at church and I just used to have it on all day I wasn’t working at the time, I’d been taking early retirement from the NHS because I wasn’t very well.
I was just so encouraged by all the interviews and the stories, the worship music, everything about it. I just loved the news, the real news, but not depressing news all the time, like it can be on the regular news. I’ve consistently listened to Premier every day. I loved all the different teachings, even though it’s not always the same as my church. I always get something out of it. I love the morning breakfast programs, and I recently got a digital radio in my car, so now I have it on in my car as well. It’s a real witness, because there’s only one person in my family who is a Christian, and so when they get lifts from me in the car, I put the radio on now and they have to listen to Premier Radio.
And I recently was driving my nephew round, kind of every afternoon for two weeks. So, he’d never, ever experienced anything of the gospel. So, there he was listening to all the different teachings, and for a couple of days, he put on a headset so he wouldn’t have to listen. I was kind of laughing to myself, you know, but that came off after a couple of days, and I could tell he was, you know, impacted by it. I mean, he’s even been asking about my church, you know, now, which is really good, possibly might even come along with me.
So Premier is such an encouragement. I’ve even used the listening line, you know, I’ve phoned up on occasion when I didn’t know any Christians, you know, to pray for me, or to pray with me, or to share anything with at the very beginning. And when you just establishing relationships in your church, it takes a while, but premier was there, you know, to phone up and to get some encouragement, to get someone to pray. And yeah, and the health problem that I had, you know, left the NHS with, you know, just gradually went away over the years. And I’m not saying that’s all Premier, because obviously I’m, you know, busy in my church, and I do lots of other things for the Lord, but it’s certainly been instrumental.
I find it so peaceful. The teaching is good, you know, it’s just really lovely Christian teaching and some of the interviews, so, you know, very in depth and tell the truth about people’s testimonies and what they’ve been through.
So, I just love Premier, and I’m sure it will continue for many years to come.
